It's raining. Dark clouds emulsify over town X as the lives of its inhabitants are manipulated into terror and farce.
​
Regina, a conservative businesswoman, instructs her best friend, Ellis, to spy on her wife, Veta. She is certain that Veta has become unfaithful, which isn't far from the truth with her lover being Ellis herself.
In the meantime, Rick, Veta's brother's secret lover and Regina's prime suspect ends up in their marital home due to a storm having turned their house number upside-down.

Number 9 is a queer reimagining of a Romanian classic filtered through the current British political system.
