Part of BRIGHTON FRINGE
20st - 23rd of May 2020 • 7PM
Deep down in an ocean flat lives a, well not quite a little mermaid and also not necessarily a big one either - you might say she’s just ‘average sized.’
Mimi invites you into her ocean apartment where she takes you on a journey of her life that she has led both on land and under the sea. See how she overcomes expectations and restrictions set by her merfamily; and the obstacles and hurdles she has come across on land often as a result of her fin.
On her adventures Mimi also learns about love, heartbreak and friendships but most of all she finds herself to become the merwomen she is today.
In a ‘sea-shell’, Mimi: The Average-Sized Mermaid, a clowning/comedy show, is a social commentary on feminism, inequality, identity crisis, and moral hypocrisy which lingers through many of us in this day and age.
